In 2003 it is a wonderful celebration in Delhi : 25 years since the Romanian language was taught here! In January we received at Meetromania an interesting email coming from the Indo-Romanian Students Cultural Association. Please, take a moment to read it.

All the students of our association are very happy here in Delhi to see your website. Our group is called Indo-Romanian Students Cultural Association. It includes all the students who are learning Romanian in India and the students coming from Romania to learn Hindi or other Indian languages.

We have had many programmes in our university about Romania. For example, on the 15th January, on the occasion of Mihai Eminescu's birthday (the greatest Romanian poet) we participated to a one-day seminar organized at the Delhi University. On this special day, there was also a silver jubilee celebration of the Romanian language in India. Maybe it is unknown to the majority of people the fact that 25 years ago, a Professor coming from Romania (Dr. George Anka) has started the Romanian language course at the university. We are happy that during this wonderful occasion he is with us here in Delhi and he is teaching our students again.

With the help of your website I want to say welcome to all the students of Romania who wish to join this association and who want to know more about India. Our email is at the top of this page. I hope you will inform the public in Romania about this association and if there is any request about our Indian university or any querry, we will be glad to reply and solve it. If any student has the intention to come to India for learning Hindi language or some other language he/she is welcome.

I will keep you and the public inform about the other activites of our association.

I wish you all the best

India is a country of great contrasts and amazing architectural treasures. Its ancient culture is still a source of inspiration and research for Western people. These pictures taken in Delhi bring to you this special perfume. Enjoy them! In addition, if you decide to go India, don't forget to write in advance to the Indo-Romanian Students Cultural Association to get some useful information!
