World famous Bears Cave
(near Chiscau)
Bears Cave is located in Crisul Negru area. The cave itself has
a length over 1.2 km and is declared an international reservation
of the Apuseni Mountains. You may easily visit
it if you have the intention to spend a few days in the
neighbourhood of Oradea city or in
Stina de Vale Spas! You may go there by
train or by road. The entrance is at 482 m altitude and the
whole visit of the two levels cave needs an hour. It is a
unique view with stalagmite and stalactite having an
extraordinary diversity of their shapes. Also here you may
find many fossils of Ursus Spelaeus (cave bear)
who disappeared more than 15,000 years ago!!!!
